Academics

     All parents have big dreams for the next generation and Covenant Christian School can help these dreams come true.  Our curriculum excites students and encourages them to become life-long learners.  CCS offers a comprehensive academic program from preschool through eighth grade, growing your children in faith and knowledge. 

     We do not believe that a single textbook company has expertise in every subject area.  Using a five year cycle in which a different subject is reviewed each year, our education committee seeks out books and materials that aggressively enable us to meet and exceed Indiana state standards.  Our study units encourage hands-on experiences whereby students demonstrate their learning through individual presentations and group projects. 

     The academic rigor of CCS is well noted.  Our students consistently score high on the Iowa Basics achievement tests.  Our curriculum:

·        Develops independent, organized, and responsible students

·        Bible in all grades

·        Comprehensive language arts program

·        Mathematics through Algebra I

·        Student inquiry based, hands on science curriculum

·        Technology classes which complement other subjects

·        Music and Art classes

·        Physical education program which includes a perceptual motor development

         program for Kindergarten.
